Our article “Exploring user heterogeneity in autonomous vehicle acceptance: A moderated mediation model based on extended TAM”, written with Sang-Ho Kim and Kyuho Maeng, appears in Transportation Research Part F: Psychology and Behaviour, volume 118 (article 103502).
The study extends the technology acceptance model (TAM) with perceptions of the technology (relative advantage, compatibility and complexity), trust, privacy concerns and personality traits. Using survey data from 509 respondents in South Korea and PLS-SEM with multi-group analysis, it examines how age, gender, education, income and driving experience moderate the acceptance of autonomous vehicles.
Intention to use was the strongest predictor of use, and attitude and trust were the main drivers of intention. Personality traits added little, and gender and income were the strongest moderators.
The article continues the acceptance model I developed for my master's thesis at Kumoh National Institute of Technology.
